Drug Found in Car, 2 L.A. Men Arrested
Ventura County sheriff’s deputies said they arrested two Los Angeles-area men after finding 2 1/2 pounds of methamphetamine worth an estimated $135,000 in a secret compartment in their car.
Deputies pulled over the car--driven by Miguel Angel Marmolejo, 28, of Baldwin Park--Wednesday for a routine traffic violation on the Ventura Freeway at Westlake Boulevard.
A loaded semiautomatic handgun was also found partially hidden under the driver’s side floor. Both Marmolejo and his passenger, Benjamin Flores Perez, 29, of Buena Park, had outstanding warrants, deputies said.
The two were booked into Ventura County Jail without incident.
