Speeders Targeted at Construction Site

A construction project by the Calleguas Municipal Water District is causing delays and making for a tough commute on West Hillcrest Drive near The Oaks mall, authorities said.
Because of possible traffic delays and construction hazards west of Lynn Road in Thousand Oaks, the Sheriff’s Department’s Thousand Oaks station has designated the area for its Traffic Tip of the Week.
Beginning today and running through Saturday, sheriff’s deputies will be strictly enforcing the 45 mph speed limit in the 600 block of West Hillcrest Drive, as construction crews continue work on the water project, said Sheriff’s Sgt. Ken Bailey.
Motorists can expect lane closures and delays during weekday rush hours and should be aware that construction crews will be working near the roadway, Bailey said.
