Grocery Store Dropped From Food Stamp Program
A Santa Ana grocery store has been disqualified from the Food Stamp Program for violating food stamp regulations, the U.S. Department of Agriculture announced Tuesday.
Guen Jo and Young Mi Cha, owners of La Union Market, allegedly exchanged food stamps for cash, federal officials said. Food stamps can only be used by authorized recipients to buy food and cannot be redeemed for cash.
The store may no longer accept food stamps. If the store is sold, the new owner may apply to accept food stamps.
