The good news for Americans and their lawmakers is that our aging population is healthier than earlier generations (March 18), thus reducing the pressure to reform the bloated and socialistic Medicare program.
The bad news is that those same healthier senior citizens will be collecting benefit checks even longer from an equally troubled Social Security system.
We are running out of money to fund these very popular wealth-transfer programs. Privatization of both programs is in order, and sooner rather than later.
