Hermosa Beach Film Festival to Premiere

Share

Organizers of the first Hermosa Beach Film Festival are seeking sponsors for the 40 short and full-length feature films that will be shown next month at the four-day event, planned to be an annual occurrence.

The sponsoring grass-roots community group has created an Adopt-a-Film program to raise money for the $170,000 festival, scheduled for April 24-27. For $1,000, sponsors will be able to have their name or company tied to the event and will be given five minutes to address the audience before the independent and unreleased films debut.

The Hermosa Beach Community Center will be turned into a theater with two screening rooms and a meeting room where filmmakers, writers and directors will congregate. The opening film will be shown on the beach from a projector set up on the pier.

Tickets range from $8.50 for one movie to $250, which provides admission to all films and access to the meeting room where filmmakers will gather. A movie schedule is due out in early April.
