Horry Out at Least Two More Games

The long-awaited return of Robert Horry will have to wait a little longer.

Laker doctors are not satisfied with the range of motion and strength in Horry’s injured left knee, so he will not be activated for either of the next two games, tonight at Seattle or Wednesday against Denver at the Forum. That will put him at 22 games missed because of the sprained ligament, even though the starting small forward has participated in the last three practices.

“I’m disappointed for Robert,” Coach Del Harris said. “I know he wants to play. But we have to do the right thing.”

Portland is still mathematically alive, but it will take a major collapse by Houston or Los Angeles--one for the Lakers that would have to occur in a stretch in which the next five opponents have a combined winning percentage of .386.

So figure Games 1 and 2 at the Forum either April 24 and 26 or April 25 and 27, with four teams still legitimate possibilities as opponents.
