Hospital’s Gift Sends Latinas to Conference

Share

A $600 gift from Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian in Newport Beach is sending six Costa Mesa women for one day of a weekend conference for Latinas at the Westin South Coast Plaza hotel.

The hospital answered a request for funding by Families-Costa Mesa, a consortium of service organizations, schools and churches, to cover registration costs for the Latina Leadership Network conference, which runs today through Saturday.

“They were very interested in attending but it is very expensive, too expensive to afford by themselves,” said Bill Turpit, director of Families-Costa Mesa.
