Tustin High School has won national recognition for the 1996 edition of its yearbook, the “Audion.”
The edition, which celebrated the school’s 75th anniversary, won the National Scholastic Press Assn.’s All-American award, the highest honor given by the organization, which has evaluated yearbooks for more than 50 years.
The yearbook received marks of distinction in coverage, concept, design and photography, with special commendations for the historical section on Tustin High’s past 75 years.
The 1996 yearbook staff was led by student editors Jamie Fast, Leticia Lucero and Katheryn Keller. The publication was the school’s first done with a desktop publishing system, faculty advisor Desiree Keresztury said.
“Tustin High is building a name for itself in the yearbook industry,” she said. “Other schools are already looking to us for creative ideas and exemplary work.”
In addition, the 1997 yearbook, edited by seniors Kirsten Doherty, Sabrina Sakaguchi and Ruby Trimble, has been included in Walsworth Publishing Co.’s Gallery of Excellence, which recognizes the top yearbooks that the company produces.
