De Boom to Be Chief of Orange Chamber

Barbara de Boom, vice president of the Newport Harbor Area Chamber of Commerce, has been named chief executive officer of the Orange Chamber of Commerce.
“While I will miss my co-workers and the great members, this is a wonderful opportunity for me to utilize the talents I have developed while working at the Newport Chamber of Commerce,” she said.
For the past 6 1/2 years, de Boom has coordinated several special events and meetings, including Newport SeaFest, Taste of Newport, the Christmas Boat Parade, the Firemen’s Ball and the annual business expositions.
The appointment becomes effective on April 21.
