A tribute to the 22 Civil War veterans interred at Ojai’s Nordhoff Cemetery, which will include a 21-gun salute and tour of each fallen man’s grave, is set for Saturday.

Civil War buffs from Visions in Time and the Ojai Civil War Reenactment will participate in the program, which will also include a presentation of the Gettysburg Address delivered by Abraham Lincoln impersonator Don Ancell.

The tribute begins at 2 p.m. at the cemetery, 300 Del Norte Road. Parking will be available a short distance away at the Ojai Valley Four Square Church, 441 Church Road.

April 12 marks the 136th anniversary of the firing on Ft. Sumter in 1861, an event that sparked the war.

The program is being held in conjunction with an effort to maintain the graves by Visions in Time members. In addition, research is underway to identify each man and his unit, which would require the Veterans Administration to provide a grave marker for each dead warrior.

The fourth annual Ojai Lake Casitas Civil War Reenactment, a two-day event, will be held the following weekend, April 19-20.
