Magnolias to Be Planted on Magnolia

To beautify their neighborhood, residents and business owners in the NoHo Arts District will plant two dozen magnolia trees Saturday morning along a stretch of Magnolia Boulevard.

About 100 volunteers plan to gather at 8:30 a.m. in front of the Finnish Center, 10701 Magnolia Blvd., before heading out to place the trees in cement planters at 18 locations on Magnolia between Vineland Avenue and Cahuenga Boulevard, said City Council President John Ferraro.

The Community Tree Planting Day is co-sponsored by Ferraro’s Valley office and several community groups and city departments.
