DUI Plate

Re “Panel Kills DUI License Plate Bill,” April 16:

I cannot understand the Senate Transportation Committee defeating a much needed and sought-after bill, with the statement that it might embarrass the families of the twice-convicted drunk drivers. How about the rest of us? How about the family of a person killed by a drunk driver? Do we not have the right to protect ourselves? Or is the true reason that this was voted down is that some of our lawmakers might have to put this license plate on their cars. I wonder!
