Consumer Portfolio Services Inc.: The Irvine company, which purchases, sells and services retail installment sales contracts originated by automobile dealers, reported that first quarter net income increased 32% to $4.1 million, or 27 cents a share, from $3.1 million, or 21 cents a share, for the same period of the prior year. Revenue increased 65% to $16.3 million from $9.9 million.
