* Go to a stamp store and admit you’re a beginner. The selection of stamps and accessories can be overwhelming, but a salesperson can help decide on the materials best for you, as well as suggest books or magazines. Magazines to check out include the Stampers’ Sampler, Somerset Studio, Rubberstampmadness and the Rubber Stamper. “The Art of Rubber Stamping: Easy as 1-2-3!” by Michele Abel (Creative MN, 1991) and “The Complete Guide to Rubber Stamping” by Grace Taormina (Watson-Guptill, 1996) teach the basics.
