Teen Dies After Being Thrown From Jeep
An 18-year-old man died after he was tossed from a jeep while standing in the back seat of the vehicle, police said Thursday.
Steven Searcy of Yorba Linda was traveling with four friends, ages 19 to 21, on Country View Drive about midnight Tuesday when the driver made a left turn onto Mountain View Avenue, hurling Searcy onto the pavement, Brea Police Sgt. Tom Flenniken said.
“Searcy was standing in the back of the jeep and he fell and hit his head,” Flenniken said. “After this thing happened, they took him in the Jeep to the hospital.”
The teenager died early Wednesday. No one has been cited pending an investigation, Flenniken said. There were no other injuries, police said.
