Law Day Race to Aid Local Organizations

The Ventura County Bar Assn. will hold its annual Law Day 5K race this weekend to raise money for organizations providing legal services to low-income families and individuals.

The event, open to runners and walkers, begins at 9 a.m. at the Ventura County Government Center. Registration starts at 8 a.m. The entry fee is $10 per person in advance, $15 the day of the race.

Four $50 gift certificates provided by Inside Track in Ventura will be awarded to the winners, and T-shirts will be given to participants.

Nearly 170 people participated in last year’s race, co-sponsored by the Ventura Assn. of Legal Assistants and the Ventura County Legal Secretaries Assn.

The Law Day 5K race coincides with similar activities nationwide and is supported by several corporate sponsors as well as 63 law firms in Ventura County.
