Stamp Out Mom’s Apron

Probably the last place most moms want to spend Mother’s Day is the kitchen. Still, it would be hard for any mom to resist an apron hand-decorated by her kids. Vegetable stamps make the job so easy that even a 3-year-old can manage it--in fact, a 3-year-old and a 5-year-old did the apron shown here.

If you’re directing the project, don’t forget to have the artist leave his or her signature; a hand print is a good way to sign the work of art.

You will need:

Assorted fabric paints

1 paper plate

1 paint brush

Assorted vegetable stamps

1 plain apron (inexpensive ones are available at Target and many discount stores)

*Squeeze paints onto paper plate, keeping colors separate.

*Brush paint on rubber side of stamps, using different colors as desired and press onto apron in desired pattern.
