Rockwell Appoints 3 Directors

Helen L. Phillips has been named director of business communications and advertising for Rockwell International Corp., a Seal Beach electronics company. She was formerly director of marketing communications. William D. Mellon, formerly director of international communications and public affairs, is now director of public relations. And Christine G. Rodriguez, communications manager at Rockwell’s former Autonetics and Missile Systems division, has been appointed director of community affairs.

* Marc G. Reich has joined the Newport Beach law firm of Capretz & Radcliffe. He was formerly with the Newport Beach office of Irell & Manella.

* Tim Smith has been appointed chief executive of Fountain Valley Regional Hospital and Medical Center. He also will oversee Garden Grove Hospital and Medical Center, where he is chief executive.

* Joel Gruber has been named vice president of finance for John Burnham & Co.’s office in Irvine. He will be responsible for originating commercial real estate loans throughout Orange County and Los Angeles. Gruber’s previous experience includes vice president of George Elkins Mortgage Banking in Newport Beach-Beverly Hills and president and chief executive of Newport Pacific Mortgage Corp. in Corona del Mar.

* James G. Leigh has joined Marine National Bank in Irvine as vice president and international banking officer. He was formerly vice president and credit executive of commercial portfolio administration for Union Bank of California. Before that, Leigh was vice president and trade finance specialist for Union Bank.

* Larry R. Bemis, a partner in the Newport Beach law firm of Millar, Hodges and Bemis, has joined the board of directors of Strouds Inc., a city of Industry-based retailer of bed, bath, tabletop and home textiles products.

* James Guccione has been named vice president of operations for Pacific Gateway Homes in Aliso Viejo. Previously, Guccione was vice president of operations for Kaufman & Broad in Newport Beach.

* Eric Greenberg has been appointed chief operating officer of Litronic Inc., a Costa Mesa provider of Internet and enterprise security solutions. He was formerly Netscape Communications’ group security product director.
