Race Will Benefit Safe Rides Program
Runners and walkers are invited to participate in the fifth annual Maxximum 5K/10K Run Sunday to benefit South Orange County Safe Rides.
The race includes a 10K race, 5K walk and 1K kids fun run. Cash prizes, T-shirts and local merchant giveaways will be awarded to race participants. The event will also feature entertainment, karate demonstrations, fitness exams and food booths.
The annual event has raised more than $55,000 for Safe Rides, a high school program that provides a safe and confidential ride home on Friday and Saturday evenings to any student who has been drinking or is with someone who has been drinking.
Registration is $19. Race time starts at 7:30 a.m. for the run, 8 a.m. for the walk and 9 a.m. for the fun run. All races will begin at the Plaza de la Paz Shopping Center at 27271 La Paz Road.
