McDonnell Douglas Scholarship Foundation has awarded $6,000 scholarships to nine county students.
The recipients, children of McDonnell Douglas-West employees, were selected from 176 applicants based on leadership, extracurricular and athletic activities and community service.
Winners who will receive the scholarship over the next four years: Elaine Chen and Mark Eppley of Huntington Beach; Sarah Friedman and Faisal Zubairi of Irvine; Phuong LeCong, Thomas Rau and Jay Nguyen of Anaheim; and Karen Pan and Kevin Luke of Fullerton.
