Taxing the Rich

Share

David Horowitz’s May 27 Column Right, “Redistributing Wealth: Unfair and Useless,” is right on the money! American taxpayers already contribute enough hard-earned income to Uncle Sam, much of it being wasted by inefficient bureaucracy.

As Horowitz pointed out, many of those in the top income bracket earned their wealth through entrepreneurial assets, unincorporated businesses or investment real estate. Clinton’s 1993 tax increase raised the marginal tax rate of those earning $140,000 and above. Why should hard work be rewarded with higher taxation? Giving the government a $94-billion tax surplus is like letting a kid loose in a candy store. Increased taxation is not the answer.
