From Times Staff and Wire Reports
New Hampshire Gov. Jeanne Shaheen signed into law a measure making the state the 11th to offer lesbians and gay men protection against discrimination. “If we are to be true to our belief that all people are created equal, we must ensure that all of our people enjoy the same basic rights under the law,” Shaheen said at a signing ceremony in Concord. The law, effective Jan. 1, 1998, will give gays and lesbians a measure of protection in the areas of employment, housing and public accommodation.
