George Chaltas has been named senior director...

George Chaltas has been named senior director of online marketing systems at Warner Music Group, a newly created position.

The company said that Chaltas, 46, will be responsible for creating new methods to evaluate sales and marketing trends within the music industry. Chaltas will serve as the primary liaison between Warner Music Group and sales and marketing information service providers, the company said.

Before coming to WMG, a division of Timer Warner Inc., Chaltas was general manager of Broadcast Data Systems’ West Coast division.

* Michael Gering has been named president of Litton Industries Inc.’s Amecom division.

Amecom is a developer of electronic systems used by the military and in commercial applications such as air-traffic control. Amecom is based in College Park, Md.

Gering has been with Amecom since 1983 and has held various positions. Before joining Litton he served for 25 years in the Marine Corps and was a jet pilot.

* Robert M. Sawyer of Santa Paula, a senior partner with the law firm of Norman, Dowler, Sawyer, Israel & Hancock in Ventura, has completed a four-year certificate program in land use and environmental planning from the UCSB Extension.

He is a planning commissioner for the city of Santa Paula and teaches land use and environmental planning law classes for the Ventura College of Law and the UCSB Extension.

* Cathy Farrington has been promoted to chief financial officer at Golden West Dental and Vision in Camarillo. Formerly a controller, she has been active in the dental industry since 1991.

Golden West, established in 1974, is one of the oldest licensed specialty care plans in California.
