2 Men Indicted for Filing False Income Tax Returns
Two men have been indicted on seven counts of filing false income tax claims for $17,000 and creating phony identification cards that used the names of unsuspecting taxpayers.
No arraignment date has been set for Kenneth Delmar Gill, 31, of La Habra, who is in state custody on an unrelated matter. Jeffrey Todd Francis, 31, of Whittier, pleaded innocent Monday.
The pair were accused of using the false ID cards to file returns electronically through tax preparers in Anaheim, Placentia, Brea and Claremont. They each face a maximum sentence of 10 years in federal prison and $250,000 in fines.
