Firm to Serve City as Traffic Engineer
An engineering firm has been hired to act as the city’s traffic engineer.
The contract will pay the Fullerton-based firm, Albert Grover & Associates, $60,000 per year. The city’s former traffic engineer retired two years ago after earning an annual salary of about $80,000.
Mark Miller of Fullerton will represent the firm as the new city traffic engineer. He will work 12 hours a week in the Engineering Department at City Hall, responding to traffic complaints, preparing reports and reviewing plans and traffic signal operations.
In addition, he will attend City Council and Transportation and Circulation Commission meetings to present staff reports and answer questions.
Should Miller be required to work on special traffic studies, his firm will be paid an extra $100 per hour.
City officials said they don’t yet know whether the private contract will save the city money in the long term.
