Are You Nuts? All Hazels Get in County Fair for Free
Anyone whose first, middle or last name is Hazel can get into the Orange County Fair free on July 17.
Because a theme of this year’s fair is “Nuttin’ but Fun,” organizers want to give people named Hazel, as in hazelnuts, a break.
At 1 p.m. July 17, the fair will gather all of the Hazels for a group photograph with Roger Owens, the famed Peanut Man from Dodger Stadium.
For the photo, they will drape themselves in a banner that reads: “I am nuts about being Hazel.”
Those who share their names with other nuts will not get in free--no Pistachios, Pecans or Walnuts, said Jill Lloyd, spokeswoman for the fair. “Just Hazels,” she said.
Those with hazel-colored eyes also have to pay.
Photo identification proving that one is a true Hazel will be required to take advantage of the offer.
