Actor Christian Slater was booked Monday on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and battery after he had a fight at a party and then was involved in an altercation with police officers who were attempting to question him, police said.

Early Monday morning, Los Angeles Police Department officers responded to a 911 call at a high-rise condominium on Wilshire Boulevard in West Los Angeles, said Det. Ron Phillips.

“During the arrest of Christian Slater, he became involved in an altercation with the arresting officers,” Phillips said.

Slater, 27, was later released on $50,000 bail.

Phillips said detectives are investigating “three crime reports . . . naming Christian Slater as a suspect. . . . We’re not going to go into any of the details on any of the assaults. They’re still being investigated, so we’re not going to discuss them.”

There are two reports of assault with a deadly weapon and one battery report, the LAPD detective said. No one else was arrested.

“There was a party that occurred last night,” Phillips said. “They were all friends and acquaintances, and it went on for several hours. And evidently this was the result of the ending of that party. I’m not going to go into the intoxication of anybody. We have found no drugs at the location.”

Slater, who starred in the films “Broken Arrow” and “Interview With the Vampire,” does not live in the high-rise.
