U.S. Will Revoke Cambodian’s Visa
The State Department announced that it is revoking the visa of a Cambodian who claims to have bankrolled last month’s coup and who also is suspected of drug trafficking. The measure is being taken against Teng Bunma, president of the Cambodian Chamber of Commerce, who owns a hotel, a bank, an import-export company and various other properties worth an estimated $400 million. A State Department spokesman noted that Teng Bunma has acknowledged his role in bankrolling the coup that deposed Cambodia’s first prime minister, Norodom Ranariddh, 5 1/2 weeks ago.
