Biomerica Names Chief Executive

* Zackary S. Irani is the new chairman and chief executive of Biomerica Inc. He was vice president of business development and had been interim chief executive since the death of his uncle, Joseph Irani, the company’s founder and former chairman and chief executive. Biomerica, based in Newport Beach, develops, manufactures and markets advanced medical diagnostic products for clinical labs, physician offices and home self-testing.
* Tom Greubel has been named director of leasing for the Irvine Industrial Co., the industrial division of the Irvine Co. He will be responsible for all industrial leasing activities in Irvine Spectrum as well as the company’s recently acquired properties in San Diego. Greubel was previously director of leasing for Insignia Commercial Group Inc.
* Eric Shiroke has been appointed director of North American sales for the storage business unit of CMD Technology in Irvine. He joined the company from Micropolis Corp. in Chatsworth. In addition, Fran Richardson has been named director of human resources. She was formerly human resources manager for AST Research in Irvine.
* Jack Daly has been chosen as chief operating officer of Irvine-based Platinum Capital. Daly previously was an executive vice president at Fleet Mortgage and CEO of GlenFed Mortgage. He also runs his own sales and sales leadership training companies, Pratt-Daly Corp. and Professional Sales Coach Inc. Platinum Capital is a national mortgage company.
* William L. Salway has been named president of Garg Data International Inc. in Newport Beach and its affiliate company, Cair Systems. He had been president of Cair. Garg Data is a business software and technology services company.
* Dom Genovese has been named a director of Procom Technology Inc. He is vice president of sales at Sync Research. Genovese will fill the seat left vacant when Sam Yau, chief executive officer of National Educational Corp., resigned from the board. Before joining Irvine-based Sync Research, Genovese was a sales executive for Cisco Systems in San Jose.
* Robert F. Byrnes has been elected to the board of Endocare Inc., an Irvine developer and manufacturer of surgical devices, bringing the number of directors to four. Byrnes has served in a number of management positions in the health care industry, including chairman and chief executive of Tokos Medical, president and chief executive of Matria Healthcare Inc., president of Caremark Inc., and vice president of business development for Genentech.
* Fred G. Jager, president of Geneva Corporate Finance, has been appointed to the National Telephone & Communications Inc. board of directors. Jager manages all international evaluation, merger, acquisition and corporate finance activities for five offices nationwide at Geneva, the world’s leading middle market intermediary. Irvine-based National Telephone markets residential and commercial discounted long-distance services.
* Christine Carpenter has been appointed director of marketing for Crystal Court, a Costa Mesa shopping center. She most recently served as director of marketing for Plaza Camino Real in Carlsbad for the Westfield Corp.
* Victor Rice has been appointed vice president of technology and chief technology officer for Simulation Sciences Inc. in Brea. In his new role, Rice will direct the company’s future technology investments. He had been chief technology officer. David Bridgeman has been named vice president of strategic planning. Bridgeman had been manager of strategic business development. Tom Clinkscales has joined Simulation Sciences as vice president of engineering services. He was formerly with Raytheon Process Automation, a division recently acquired by Simulation, where he held the position of director of technology. Mike Davis has been appointed vice president of worldwide sales. He joined the company in 1996 as director of worldwide sales after spending 20 years at Nalco Chemical Co. Also, John Dial has been named vice president of systems technology. Previously, he was president and founder of Visual Solutions, a company recently acquired by Simulation Sciences.
* Richard M. Torre has been elected president of the Forum for Corporate Directors, a county organization for directors of public, private and nonprofit organizations. He is president of Global Capital Markets Inc. in Irvine.
* Mitchell D. Baxter has been named president and chief operating officer of V-Systems Inc. He previously served as vice president of marketing and product management for V-Systems, which develops and markets Internet and fax-based enterprise messaging software. It is based in San Juan Capistrano.
* Owen Powell has joined Display Works, an Irvine trade show exhibit and display company, as design director. He was formerly with Grondorf Field Black & Co. in Irvine.
* Jack Daly has joined Platinum Capital, an Irvine mortgage company, as chief operating officer. Previously, he was executive vice president of production for Fleet Mortgage. Daly has also worked at Security Pacific Bank, Home Mortgage Access Corp., and as chief executive of GlenFed Mortgage.
