GOP Leader Seeks to Clarify Record

* Your Feb. 22 article concerning me, “GOP Leader Pulls No Punches,” left what I believe to be a false impression.
This article left everyone I have spoken to with the impression that I had sued my mother, that I had requested that my mother be jailed because of her conduct during the lawsuit, and finally that the lawsuit in question is still pending.
I was neither a party nor an attorney in the action to which the article refers. The company in which I have an interest was a plaintiff, but this action in its entirety was dismissed over a year before this article was published. In addition, because of obvious questions of conflict of interest, I was completely recused by the company from any involvement in the decision-making process as to whether this lawsuit should be filed, and once it was filed, how it would be conducted.
Finally, the quote by me as to my willingness to employ hardball tactics was in response to a question about political campaigns, not, as the impression the story would leave, in response to a question relating to this lawsuit.
