Lederer Should Just Mind Her Business

I am a longtime resident, but I have never taken a public stand on a political issue or written a letter to the editor. I have restricted my volunteer hours to service clubs and military organizations.
I would have maintained my silence if I were not so offended that Jill Lederer, who doesn’t even live in our city, is leading and bankrolling a recall campaign against one of our local elected officials, Councilwoman Elois Zeanah.
There is no malfeasance, so a recall is not justified.
If there is a recall campaign against someone, the work and money should come from the people who vote in the district. In this case, the petitions were circulated by outsiders and the majority of the money has come from an outsider. This is not right.
I give Lederer credit for her Domino’s Pizza business success. This is an achievement to be proud of. But it doesn’t give her license to set up a carpetbagger’s political shop in Thousand Oaks and throw our city into turmoil.
