Mir Crew, Support Staff Take Breather

From Times Wire Reports

Cosmonauts on the Mir space station took it easy a day after they made arduous repairs to the damaged craft. Most ground controllers, pleased and relieved after Friday’s grueling repair mission, also rested, and journalists were barred from Mission Control north of Moscow. Russian space officials said it will be several days before they know whether the reconnection of cables to the damaged Spektr research module will restore power to near the level it was before a June 25 collision with a cargo resupply ship. On Monday, cosmonauts Anatoly Solovev and Pavel Vinogradov and NASA astronaut Michael Foale are to plan their next fix-it job and begin trying to bring the reconnected solar panels aboard Spektr back on line.
