Motorcyclist Run Over After Fall

Share

A 23-year-old Santa Ana motorcyclist was critically injured Sunday after he hit a parked car and was thrown into the street, where a truck ran over him, police said.

Edwin Orellana was riding his Kawasaki motorcycle when he hit a car parked on Glassell Street and was thrown to the street, just north of Rose Avenue, about 1 a.m., Sgt. Tim Pyne said. As Orellana lay in the street, a truck ran over him and fled, Pyne said.

He was taken to UCI Medical Center, where he remained in critical condition Sunday.

All that is known about the hit-and-run driver is that the vehicle was a late-model, dark-colored mini truck that headed south on Glassell after hitting Orellana, police said.

Pyne called the incident “just horrible.”

Anyone with information or Orellana’s missing helmet is asked to call Det. Dave Alton at (714) 744-7460.
