Applicants Are Sought for Grand Jury

Share

The county is seeking people for a job that’s low on pay but high on importance.

Applications are being sought from those interested in serving on the grand jury, charged with promoting sound government, making public policy recommendations and investigating and issuing indictments in civil and criminal matters.

Grand jurors must commit to a full-time job that pays $25 per day and a maximum of $125 per week. Work begins July 1.

Most of the 19 members will be homemakers, students or retirees, said Evelyn Valle, supervisor of the jury commissioner’s office. But everyone is welcome to apply.
