STINGRAYS TONIGHT
Opponent--Portland Power.
Time--7:30.
Records--Long Beach 9-8, Portland 12-6.
Site--Pyramid, Long Beach State.
Update--Having ended a two-game loss streak Tuesday night, the StingRays seek a second consecutive victory in tonight’s matchup, the second meeting of the ABL’s two best rebounders, Yolanda Griffith and Portland’s Natalie Williams--and the StingRays aren’t likely to soon forget the first one. Williams sank a three-point shot from the corner--her first ABL three-point attempt--to send the game into overtime, eventually won by Portland, 85-80, with Williams scoring 34. The Power has slumped since then, though, losing its last two and three of its last four. Griffith leads the league in rebounding and is third in scoring. Williams is second in both scoring and rebounding and has some help inside this year in rookie DeLisha Milton.
