At Home Corp. shares rose 7.8% after it said it will offer Microsoft Corp.’s Internet Explorer browser on its network, expanding Microsoft’s reach among Internet users and At Home’s range of customer services. The shares of At Home, which links consumers and businesses to the Internet via cable modems at speeds hundreds of times faster than regular modems, rose 1 5/8 to $22.50. Microsoft has been trying to expand its share of the Internet-browser market, which Netscape Communications Corp. dominates. This agreement allows Microsoft’s browser to be offered alongside Netscape’s on At Home’s system. At Home, based in Redwood City, has said it wants to deliver a wide range of products and services to its customers. Customers must ask for Internet Explorer when they sign up with At Home, said Chairman and Chief Executive Tom Jermoluk.
