Nine-Month, $680,000 Park Renovation Begins Saturday
The long-awaited renovation of Arnold/Cypress Park will begin this weekend with a groundbreaking ceremony and the addition of new playground equipment.
The installation of the playground equipment will mark the first phase of the nine-month renovation project. The $680,000 project will include increased parking, building remodeling, sports field improvements and addition of a multiuse play court and a roller hockey rink.
The 13-acre park, at 8611 Watson St., was the original site of the Cypress Recreation and Park District offices in 1949. The ceremony will be at 10 a.m. Saturday.
