No Plot Found in High School Slayings

Investigators have failed to flesh out rumors of a wider plot behind last week’s high school shootings, although the sheriff said he suspects others knew in advance about the attack. Freshman Michael Carneal, 14, is being held on murder, attempted murder and burglary charges following last week’s rampage in which he opened fire on a student prayer group with a semi-automatic handgun, killing three and wounding five.
