14 Students’ Artwork to Appear in Calendar

Artwork by 14 students, including a grand prize-winning entry titled “Video Crazed Iguanas Take Over Italy,” is featured in the annual Southern Orange County High School Art Calendar.

Brent Langieri of Dana Hills High School won the grand prize in the contest, sponsored by the Irvine Valley College Foundation, Pacific Bell and Da Vinci Paint Co.

The 1998 calendar also showcases artwork from Eungee Kim, Kyung Hyun Lee and Gisselle Suazo, University High School; Jinman Dim, Irvine High; Miguel Duran and Aya Tendo, Foothill High; Noel Alba and Jaclyn Markle, Trabuco Hills High; Nathan Thompson and Andy Makishima, Laguna Hills High; and David Hurtado, Newport Harbor High.

Each year, Irvine Valley College invites high school artists to submit ink, pencil or charcoal drawings for the calendar.

All entries will be on display through Jan. 16 in the college’s Gallery Hall. Copies of the calendar are available in the Fine Arts Office in Building A200.
