Parking Ban Proposed Near Yule Decorations

In an effort to protect residents from a horde of motorists seeking to view Christmas decorations in the area, the City Council on Tuesday will consider temporarily banning parking on some streets near Heil Avenue and Brookhurst Street.
Sycamore, Filbert and Shadbush streets and Dandelion and Gladiola avenues are among the streets being considered for restrictions from Dec. 19 to 24.
The ordinance is intended to curb traffic and “to protect everyone else wandering around in the dark,” City Councilman John J. Collins said.
Officials also will issue a resolution reinforcing their decision to revoke a business permit for Pompiduo Pizza, which allegedly featured a nude dancer and allowed other code violations at 16121 Harbor Blvd.
The council meets at 7 p.m. in City Hall, 10200 Slater Ave. Information: (714) 965-4400.
