Teen Held After Woman Hit With Pepper Spray
Police have arrested a teenager suspected of firing pepper spray into the face of a Ventura woman who had ordered the youth out of her frontyard, authorities said.
Joseph Porras, 18, was arrested shortly after he allegedly assaulted 39-year-old Cindy Anderson about 10:30 p.m. Friday.
According to police, Porras and a group of six or seven friends arrived at Anderson’s home and challenged her teenage son to a fight.
Anderson went outside to tell the group to leave when Porras allegedly fired the suffocating spray into her face, police said. She was treated by paramedics at the scene.
The group fled, but shortly after the incident, investigating officers found Porras nearby and arrested him.
Porras was booked into Ventura County Jail, and bail was set at $5,000. He is scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday.
