“At Thanksgiving, I brought up a bottle of 1978 Stony Hill Gewurztraminer out of our winery library. It was made in the vineyards just below ours on top of Spring Mountain. The wine was just wonderful: the true bouquet of Gewurztraminer, which you so rarely get when you drink them early, combined with complexity and balance. The wine skipped to the beat of a different drummer: distinctive, floral and aged to delicious maturity.”
