Ritzy Weekend Is Grotesque
* I was dismayed to read on the front page of the Dec. 12 issue the “news” of the Ritz-Carlton offer of a super-deluxe weekend stay for six at $500,000.
It is grotesque of the Ritz-Carlton to market such an offer, and it is in poor taste of The Times to report such a non-newsworthy event, with such insensitivity to the poor as well as the middle class, and perhaps even to those who could afford such a weekend.
We should be more concerned about how the poor find, or don’t find, money to make ends meet, rather than how the rich spend their money in such an immoral way.
And by the way, you forgot to mention whether this package includes parking fees.
