Forward Lamond Murray, off to the best start of his career, missed Tuesday night’s game against the Chicago Bulls because of a sprained right hand and wrist.

Injured when he fell after taking a charge in Sunday’s 22-point loss at Boston, Murray is expected to be out for a week to 10 days.

Coach Bill Fitch said he has not decided whether to place Murray on the injured list. Murray is averaging 14.4 points and 5.8 rebounds and shooting 50.3%.

Trainer Ray Melchiorre said X-rays were negative for a fracture.

Murray has limited mobility in the hand, which is still swollen.

Rookie forward Maurice Taylor, who idolizes Michael Jordan, was thrilled to play against him.

“Last game, I wanted to go up to him and ask for his autograph after some of the things he did against us,” Taylor said.

“I’ve been wearing 23 [Jordan’s number] since I was about 10. I love Michael Jordan. He was the guy I looked up to all my life.

“I have all his videos, ‘Come Fly with Me,’ ‘Playground,’ ‘Airtime’ and ‘Above and Beyond.’ My favorite video is whichever one I pull out. You know you’re going to see the same thing.”

Taylor blocked a Jordan shot in the second quarter.
