Recreation in the city has revolved around the Brea Community Center since its opening last year, and this holiday season will be no exception.

The center, at 695 Madison Way, has several activities planned for children and teens through Thursday, as well as general use of indoor basketball courts, volleyball, billiards, aerobics classes and the fitness complex.

For $3, youths between 9 and 15 can participate in the center’s Art Club, from 2:30 to 4 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, to learn about famous artists while working on their own projects, including paintings and sculptures.
