Want Stability? Show Them the Money

Want an employer who pays a little more than you might get elsewhere? Maybe you should find one advised by Singer, Lewak, Greenbaum & Goldstein, an accounting and consulting firm with offices in Santa Ana, Los Angeles and Ontario.

In a recent report on salary, performance and benefits, Singer said that despite the trend toward employees jumping from firm to firm, companies with stable, talented work forces have a clear advantage these days.

“Try to pay your best people a couple of thousand extra dollars here and there to keep them with the company,” the report advised.

Noting that management is often out of touch with how individual employees are performing, it also recommended peer review as a way to determine who should get raises.
