School Officials Win Order Blocking Transfer

Three Inglewood Unified School District administrators have been granted a temporary restraining order that prevents the district from demoting or reassigning them. It is the second time that employees have sued the district in the last week.

Debra Tate and Karen Peters, both assistant principals at Inglewood High School, joined Director of Special Services Hollis Dillon in filing the motion earlier this week. The three employees allege that the district is wrongfully trying to demote them, according to their attorney Mansfield Collins.

Dillon has been a critic of Supt. McKinley Nash, who recently returned to the top job in the district. Inglewood High School Principal Kenneth Crowe, who was reportedly being considered as a replacement for Nash, who was fired by board members in April, obtained a temporary restraining order last week alleging that the district planned to send him back to the classroom.

A court hearing for Tate, Peters and Dillon has been scheduled for July 15. A court hearing for Crowe has been scheduled for Tuesday,
