Commissioners will then board a bus to tour environmentally sensitive lagoons at Oxnard’s Ormond Beach, and later visit public access areas at Point Dume State Preserve in Malibu.

On Wednesday, the commission will consider a coastal plan amendment to allow a 300-home development on a 20-acre site near the mouth of Ventura Harbor.

Later Wednesday, the commission will consider an appeal of a permit issued by Ventura County allowing Pacific Bell to install a 35-foot cellular telephone tower near Faria County Park.
