Officials to Seek Closure of Street for Outdoor Dining
The long-awaited face-lift to Pier Avenue in downtown Hermosa Beach is just about finished. But the city is still trying to decide whether it can block off the area to traffic and have open-air dining outside many of the restaurants.
The city is scheduled to go before the California Coastal Commission on Wednesday at the commission’s meeting in Ventura and request approval for the open-air dining concept.
City officials are hoping that the Pier Avenue outdoor plaza project will be completed within a month.
