Bargain-hunting: After I skate on Saturday mornings, I usually go down to South Coast Plaza. The sales racks at Saks and Nordstrom are particularly good. I’m not really a trendy person. I’m more classic. I’m not into things that come in and go out really fast, so I don’t shop at places like Rampage and Contempo Casuals.

Thrill-seeking: Since I don’t have much free time, when I do something it has to be good. I love going to Disneyland and Magic Mountain. I love roller coasters. I like the thrill of being in the air and going full speed. It reminds me of skating. You look down, see you’re going to drop a few stories and say to yourself: “Why am I doing this?”

Tuning in: I collect a lot of CDs. I’m constantly trying to find songs for skating exhibition programs. I like softer, slower music generally, like Jewel, Natalie Merchant and Tracy Chapman. I’m not picky about where I shop for CDs. Sam Goody is fine by me.

Life’s temptations: I’m pretty strict on my diet. I watch the fat, and I don’t eat fast food. I do have quite a sweet tooth though. I always have to have Junior Mints when I go to the movies.

Make a date: I don’t have any time for dating right now. I’m touring and I barely stay one week in a place. If a boy did something romantic for me, I would want him to take me to the beach, where we would sit and talk until nighttime. Then we would watch the stars.
